This years contest for who had received the most reward points for great client feedback throughout the year was so closely fought that it was a dead heat between Joy and Elicia with 620 points each! Last years winner Linda gave them a run for their money though with a really close 600 points. At 20 points a time thats a lot of happy clients!
Unfortunately, with only one prize of a Valentines weekend away for two we had to draw names and Elica was the lucky winner. Joy did receive a lovely consolation prize of a pampering kit to spoil herself with though. Well done to them both for being officially 'the best' in 2011.
ADELE JUMPS FOR A GREAT CAUSE!
We're all really proud of Tadcaster Branch Manager Adele, who has raised £285 so far for Cancer Research by taking part in a tandem parachute jump in August.
With three new team members joining the Freshly Maid team since August, its been a busy time for us helping them settle into their new roles.
Karen, who joined the Tadcaster team in August has finished her training and is already becoming a strong member of the team. Lynne joined the Wetherby team in early September and although she is still getting to know our clients and our routines, she is doing really well and as she has already put her name down for our management training programme, we expect her to continue to progress with us. Nichola has also joined the Wetherby team and has completed her first two weeks of training (the toughest as she gets used to using some muscles she'd forgotten about!)
As part of our two week initial induction and training programme, every new team member receives one to one training with one of our Branch Managers or a senior member of the cleaning team. In week 1, attention to detail is key and then in week 2 its attention to detail along with timings. Speed comes with practice and all clients have extra time free of charge whilst a new team member is cleaning their home to make sure everyone receives the same great service.
This hands on training combined with a full cleaning manual detailing how to clean each room are two of the ways we make sure our cleaning staff grasp the basics quickly. One of the things we have realised is that you can teach people to clean but you can't teach them to care enough to do it well every time. Thankfully, we're good at identifying this both during the interview process and during initial training.
IT'S A GIRL!!
Huge congratulations and many best wishes to Johanne and her family on the birth of their beautiful baby daughter, Maddison Violet, on Friday 5th August 2011.
Weighing in at a healthy 6lbs 14oz (and after keeping everyone waiting for nearly two weeks!) Mum and baby are both well.
I’m sure they will already be making good use of the lovely moses basket and baby carrier the team clubbed together to buy.
Grandma Debs is of course delighted too and although she’s working hard covering as Wetherby Branch Manager in Johanne’s absence, we are sure she will find plenty of time to pop round for cuddles!
NEW FRESHLY MAID, ALISON, ALREADY RECEIVING GREAT CLIENT FEEDBACK...
Alison joined us in July and has settled really well into the team. She completed her two week training programme with flying colours and has already received some lovely feedback from our clients....
"Just to say that Linda and Alison did a really good job today. Alison seems really good and thorough".
AND NOW WE ARE TWO....
Well Freshly Maid is now officially a business of two teams!
To help us grow and serve a wider geographic area, we now have a fabulous new base in Tadcaster to add to our original Wetherby base. We celebrated in style with a little bucks fizz and some cake for breakfast and both teams are now working really well with the help of our newly promoted Branch Managers Adele and Johanne.
We really hope this change will ensure we can help more clients to enjoy a Freshly Maid welcome home!
IT'S OUR BIRTHDAY!! We’ll be celebrating throughout April as we are officially 3 years old this month! Hard to believe it’s been 3 years already and we’ve come such a long way in such a short time!
All our lovely clients will be receiving a sweet treat from us over the next two weeks so they can join in the celebration with us and as a thank you for their much valued custom.
FRESHLY MAID SHORTLISTED IN ACKRILL BUSINESS AWARDS 2011! We were all very excited to learn we had been shortlisted in the Ackrill Business Awards! We were definitely batting well above our weight as there were some pretty big businesses in our category so we were thrilled just to make the shortlist. We didn’t win but we were featured in the Wetherby News and Harrogate Advertiser and got to hobnob at the awards dinner in March.
LINDA WINS CLIENT SATISFACTION REWARD Our team are given reward points throughout the year for positive client feedback and every month they win chocolates, wine, flowers and vouchers for their efforts. This year we went a little bit further and Linda Hammond has won herself a Valentines weekend for two in the Lake District because she received the most reward points for the whole of 2010. Joy, Adele and June were all close contenders and I think the competition next year will be even closer!
FRESHLY MAID FINALLY CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS! We finally got round to celebrating Christmas as a team on Saturday 15th January 2011 at the Bridge Inn, Wetherby. As we were so busy leading up to Christmas we had decided to postpone our party and it was a really nice way to start the year off, all in our glad rags and in festive mood.

Freshly Maid marries her Prince Charming...
Huge Congratulations to the lovely Johanne on her wedding to Dave on Saturday March 27th 2010.
Johanne always looks great in her uniform but wow what a transformation to stunning bride!
Wetherby cleaning business wins start up award!
Professional Cleaning company 'Freshly Maid' based on Sandbeck Industrial Park, have swept up the 2009 Start Up Award, after a successful 18 months of Business.
Published Date: 11 November 2009 – Wetherby News
A Wetherby business has defied the recession and earned itself a 2009 Start Up Business Award.
Cleaning company Freshly Maid, based on the Sandbeck Industrial Park, has only been in business 18 months but already it employs nine staff and has a long list of both domestic and commercial contracts.
Started by Wetherby mum-of-two Diane Greenwood in April 2008, the business operates from a storage unit on the industrial park.
Diane, who initially began the business by cleaning houses alone, said she was delighted to have received the national award which comes after months of hard work.
"We offer professional cleaning and housekeeping services to homes in Wetherby, Collingham, Linton, Spofforth, Harrogate, York, Leeds and surrounding areas and we now have some commercial contracts like Wetherby Golf Club.
"I'm looking to grow my business even further now and this award has not only encouraged me but it's great for the team as well who I'm very grateful to for their support."
